Milo Ventimiglia and Wife Jarah Mariano Welcome Daughter After Devastating Loss in L.A. Fires
The "This Is Us" Actor and Model Embrace a New Chapter After Losing Their Home in the Malibu Wildfires
Just weeks after their Malibu home was destroyed in the devastating Los Angeles-area fires, Milo Ventimiglia and his wife, Jarah Mariano, are embracing a new beginning with the arrival of their first child.
On Friday, Mariano shared the joyous news on Instagram, announcing the birth of their daughter, Ke’ala Coral Ventimiglia, born on January 23. The post included a touching image showing the couple’s hands, their dog’s paw, and their newborn’s tiny feet.
"Houseless, never homeless," Mariano captioned the heartfelt photo.
In her post, Mariano reflected on the difficult events leading up to their daughter's birth. She explained that on January 7, she and her family were forced to evacuate due to the Palisades Fire. The fire not only destroyed the home they were living in but also their new house, which was still under construction.
“At 38 weeks pregnant, I had to evacuate twice—once during the Franklin Fire just a few weeks earlier," she wrote. "I view it as a gift that the first evacuation served as a practice run for what was inevitably coming. I’m forever grateful we could evacuate during the day and not be caught off guard in the middle of the night."
She also expressed her deep appreciation for the support of her family, friends, and the Los Angeles community during this challenging time.
“A special thank you to all those who supported us: our family, friends, birthing team, hospital staff, companies gifting, and the greater LA community," she continued. "Your love and generosity mean everything to us.”
The couple, who married in Hawaii in 2023, had announced their pregnancy in September 2024.
Earlier in January, Ventimiglia, known for his role on This Is Us, shared how he watched his Malibu home burn down via security cameras. "You start thinking about all the memories in different parts of the house and then you see your neighbors' houses go up too, and your heart just breaks," he told CBS News.
Despite the loss, he remains focused on what truly matters. "We’ve got good friends and good people around us, and we’ll make do. Wife, baby, and dog—most important,"
