As players journey through Coridden, they'll encounter a variety of obstacles that seem insurmountable at first. However, as the story progresses, new powers and abilities are unlocked, allowing players to break through these barriers. One such challenge involves swimming across a river to infiltrate the castle at Varun Cliffs—a key part of the main quest that isn't fully explained. In this guide, we'll walk you through how to reach Boltpicker Camp in Varun Cliffs by obtaining the Crocolisk form and navigating the dangerous waters.

Start at Varun Rapids

Once you arrive in Aatama Valley, you’ll see a marker for Varun Cliffs on your map. However, the entrance is blocked, and you’ll need to find an alternative route through Varun Rapids. This area doesn’t have a marker, but it’s located on the left side of the Varun Cliffs entrance. Simply jump off the bridge at Varun Cliffs and take the left path until you come across the gate leading to Varun Rapids.

Reach the Water Cave

Head north in Varun Rapids, and you'll eventually find the Water Cave, where the Big Crocolisk resides. To reach the cave, you’ll need to cross the river. If you’re not using a sea creature form, the swim could be quite dangerous. We recommend swimming to Sejal Village, then using the boats on the southern coast of the village to safely traverse the river. Don’t worry about hitting spiky obstacles with the boat—they won’t damage your health, allowing for a safe journey.

Along the way, keep an eye out for side quests and activities that offer valuable rewards like coins, attribute points, and new gear to enhance your gameplay.

Defeat Big Crocolisk

Big Crocolisk is a formidable boss, and like most bosses in Coridden, ranged attacks are your best option. Big Crocolisk deals significant melee damage at a long range, so it’s best not to get too close. Use your bow or creature form’s ranged abilities to keep your distance while dealing damage. Although it may take longer to defeat the boss this way, it’s a much safer approach.

Acquire the Crocolisk Form

After defeating Big Crocolisk, you’ll obtain the Crocolisk creature form, which is essential for crossing the river and advancing in the story. Exit the Water Cave through the same gate you entered, and equip the Crocolisk form. Swim across to the left side of the river, then take the path north to enter Varun Cliffs.

Head to Boltpicker Camp

Follow the marked path on your map to reach Boltpicker Camp. Once inside the camp, you can continue with the story quest. Be cautious, though—there are archers inside who can deal a lot of damage. It’s a good idea to take them out first to avoid unnecessary risks as you progress further into the camp.
