Black Ops 6 Zombies: How to Get a Free Ray Gun in The Tomb
Unlock the iconic Ray Gun early in Black Ops 6 Zombies' new map, The Tomb, with a guaranteed side easter egg, and learn how to dig up Ancient Gems to claim the powerful weapon
The Ray Gun has long been one of the most iconic and coveted weapons in the Black Ops Zombies series, and that hasn’t changed in Black Ops 6. The arrival of The Tomb, the latest Zombies map, offers players a guaranteed method to acquire the legendary Ray Gun early in the game. No more endless spins of the Mystery Box or wasted points chasing the weapon—The Tomb has a side easter egg that lets you dig up the Ray Gun as early as round 3.
Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to get your hands on a free Ray Gun in The Tomb.
Step 1: Acquiring the Shovel
To begin the quest for the free Ray Gun, players first need to obtain a shovel. This essential tool is easy to find in The Tomb, glowing with a white outline to mark its presence. Here are some locations where players can find a shovel:
By Quick Revive in the Deep Excavation area, located in the East part of the map.
Against walls near the spawn area of the Dig Site.
Once you have the shovel, you’re ready to start digging. The next step is to find the dig sites scattered around The Tomb.
Step 2: Finding the Dig Sites
Digging up the free Ray Gun requires players to locate specific dig sites. These sites are marked by dirt mounds containing bones and skulls, and when you stand near them, a prompt will appear to dig. Here’s where you can find the dig sites in The Tomb:
Deep Excavation Area: Located in the East part of the map, near Quick Revive.
Dig Site Spawn Area: Scattered around the mound in the spawn area.
Shrine of the Hierophants: Look for dig sites hidden in the shadowy corners near Stamin-Up.
Dig sites tend to spawn every round or two, so it’s important to keep checking these areas after each wave. Your goal is to find and collect three Ancient Gems—glowing green rocks that have a small chance of appearing at each dig site.
Step 3: Collecting the Ancient Gems
Once you’ve found a dig site, interact with it to begin the digging process. You’ll want to keep digging until you obtain three Ancient Gems. This can take a few rounds, as the drop rate is not guaranteed, so patience is key.
Step 4: Unlocking the Free Ray Gun
After obtaining the three Ancient Gems, head to the Roman Mausoleum area, which can be accessed from the Dig Site. Alternatively, you can travel up from the Shrine of the Hierophants to reach the Tombs area. In the Tombs, go to the East corner of the map, where you’ll find a mural wall featuring a bull. To the left of the mural, you’ll see a statue of a bearded man.
Interact with the bearded man statue, and place the three Ancient Gems into it. This will activate a sequence that transforms the Gems into glowing orbs. But don’t get too comfortable yet—two Doppelghasts will spawn to challenge you.
Step 5: Defeat the Doppelghasts
These Doppelghasts are special variants with green eyes, but don’t be intimidated. With the right weapons, they’re not too difficult to defeat. Take them down, and once they’re gone, you’ll receive the following rewards:
Potts and Paints PT 5 Intel
1,100 Essence
And of course, the Ray Gun!
Conclusion
With these steps, you can easily acquire the Ray Gun in Black Ops 6 Zombies on The Tomb map. All it takes is some digging, a little patience, and a willingness to take on a few enemies. Now you can enjoy the classic weapon without relying on luck at the Mystery Box. Good luck, and happy zombie hunting!
