Alien: Earth Receives Creepy New Trailer and Poster
The Xenomorphs Are Coming to Our Planet in This Creepy New Series
The Alien franchise made a big comeback in 2024 with Alien: Romulus, and in 2025, it's set to take things in a thrilling new direction. Alien: Earth, an original TV series, will bring the terrifying Xenomorphs to humanity's home planet for the first time. Created by Fargo and Legion mastermind Noah Hawley, this new chapter marks the franchise’s television debut, diving into a prequel story that unfolds before the events of the original 1979 film.
A Star-Studded Cast in Alien: Earth
The series will introduce a fresh ensemble of actors, including Sydney Chandler, Timothy Olyphant, Alex Lawther, Samuel Blenkin, and Essie Davis. Alien: Earth promises to expand the universe in exciting ways, while keeping fans on edge with its terrifying premise. The series takes place before the events of the iconic movie, Alien, which means we’ll see the Xenomorphs’ first steps on Earth—and just how much damage one of these creatures can do to a whole planet.
The Alien: Earth Trailer Has Landed
As Alien: Earth nears its summer 2025 release, marketing for the series is intensifying. FX and Hulu recently dropped a haunting teaser trailer, offering a chilling glimpse into the series' storyline. Shot from the POV of a facehugger, the teaser follows the creature through the halls of a spaceship as alarms blare and a containment breach warning echoes. The suspense builds as the facehugger makes its way to the window, where we see Earth, its destination for a deadly crash landing.
Alongside the trailer, a new poster was revealed, further cementing the series' eerie atmosphere. The poster blends an image of a Xenomorph with the backdrop of Earth, adding to the sense of impending doom. With the tagline "We were safer in space," the poster teases the dark turn the show will take once the Xenomorphs make their way to Earth. Although the trailer offers minimal insight into the full plot, it’s clear that the damaged ship will be the key to the alien species’ invasion, and the terror that follows could be far worse than any encounter with the creatures in space.
What Sets Alien: Earth Apart from the Franchise
Alien: Earth promises to be a game-changer in the Alien franchise, offering something fresh and terrifying that hasn't been explored before. While previous Alien films have focused on space stations or distant planets, Alien: Earth brings the action home. This marks the first time the Xenomorphs will threaten humanity on Earth, adding a new layer of horror to the story. The concept of introducing the terrifying creatures to a fully populated planet offers plenty of opportunities for fresh narrative twists.
Set in 2120—two years before Alien and after Prometheus and Alien: Covenant—Alien: Earth follows Chandler’s character and a group of soldiers who discover a crashed alien vessel on Earth. As they investigate, they uncover humanity's greatest threat: the Xenomorphs.
In contrast to other Alien stories that explore the evolution of the Xenomorphs and different species of the creatures, Alien: Earth will focus on the unknown terror of having the Xenomorphs unleashed on a populated planet. With the stakes higher than ever, the series promises to be a fresh and terrifying chapter in the Alien saga.
Alien: Earth is set to premiere in Summer 2025 on FX and Hulu, and fans of the franchise won’t want to miss the upcoming horror that awaits humanity.
